Experience

With immense grit and determination, I achieved 2 H2 Distinctions in Mathematics and Economics after studying for 6 years in Raffles Institution under the integrated programme. That was not an easy feat for me, as I struggled in my earlier years in RI. Through effective study methods, however, I slowly discovered academic success in JC, which concluded my tertiary education journey on a high note - two H2 distinctions in Economics and Mathematics.

I personally have an avid interest in the two fields of Economics and Mathematics and have spent countless hours helping out both my friends and juniors by giving 1-1 tuition since I entered JC in 2019 while juggling with my studies.

Even after graduation, I have continued to give 1-1 tuition to some of my juniors, ensuring that I am well versed in the economics and mathematics concepts, to ensure that I will be an effective teacher when called to the task. Thankfully, being someone who loves to read, as well as to discover the workings of the world, I find myself venturing into books that teach a higher level of economics and mathematics than what I have been taught in JC, such as econometrics.

With the two years of tutoring experience under my belt, I have realised a simple approach to learning - grasping key concepts and putting them to good practice (a style that helped me to achieve my distinctions in the A levels). As I was not a stellar student in my earlier years, I understand the pain of having to catch up on concepts that one is weaker at, and as such, will always come from a position of guidance when encountering a student who needs more help. I will always do my best to facilitate a fun and fruitful learning environment.

Commitment

I can start asap and I can commit to tutoring till 2023, when I do attend NUS to major in Data Science & Economics
